Erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze says it smacks of lack of proper filial piety for the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to dare God in his determination to sustain the fight against Gov. Siminialayi Fubara, despite prompt intervention from President Bola Tinubu.
Recall that Wike had insisted publicly that he would fight his successor in office, Sir Sim Fubara even if heaven fell. “Anybody who knows me knows too well: what I’ll never take is a threat. You know I will not agree. If heaven will come down, let heaven come down so that everybody will be at rest,” said Mr Wike.
He added, “Let’s do things right. He said they should bring N20 billion every month; that’s politics. But nobody said this when I was fighting. If you like, excuse me. I won’t even have sleepless nights because, as far as I’m concerned, the right thing must be done.”
In other fora during a Book Launch recently in Port Harcourt, Eze quoted Wike as threatening Fubara, “I’ll cause you sleepless nights and nothing will happen and that he can paralyze governance in the state and nothing will happen”.
“If I say there will be problems there will be, don’t be deceived. I don’t need to win but I need you to suffer; you can’t sleep. People will hold you responsible for non-performance, I have finished my own 8 years,” Wike boasted.
Eze went further to state that Wike maintained, “All of you know me very well; how I fought the Former Governor Rt. Hon. Amaechi. If you are part of a political structure and you are going against the structure, the structure will call you to order.
“It’s not about rushing to court, all of us can rush to court. I will reply to everybody at the appropriate time,”
In a statement made available to the media, Eze said such unguarded comments as exposed above, even though made in an unconscious state constitute an affront to God and put a direct challenge to the authority of President Tinubu who had waded into the crisis.
Eze reminded the former Governor of his status as a mere mortal and counselled him to be cautious of his choice of words, adding that Heaven can only fall when it is ordained to fall as contained in the Holy Book of St. Mathew Chapter 24:26 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shakennd and not by the ordinary comment of a political drunkard in the pursuit of inordinate things.
Eze restated that the conflict or rather the crisis in Rivers State politics is ordained by God to free Rivers State from Wike’s damaging grip which has dealt badly with the state, her resources and the people.
He said Wike has declared in a video that has gone viral that he is a good friend of the Devil and in that case an enemy of God because he who is a friend to the Devil can not be a friend of God.
On snubbing the counsel of President Tinubu for peace to be maintained between him and Governor Fubara, the APC chief such action “proves me right that the time comet when Wike will expose his true nature to Tinubu and the time is gradually building up.”
The ball is now in the Court of Governor Sim Fubara to lead the struggle to free Rivers State from this destructive man or get himself consumed in the process, Eze highlighted
