In a passionate rebuttal to recent comments made by Nana Kazaure on social media, actor and political figure Kenneth Okonkwo has called out what he describes as baseless allegations aimed at tarnishing his reputation and that of his former colleague, Peter Obi.
Kazaure, whom Okonkwo refers to as a “jobless sycophant,” criticised Okonkwo for his alleged “distractive drama and inconsistency” regarding Obi, sparking a heated exchange online. Okonkwo’s response, laden with scathing remarks towards Kazaure’s character and credibility, highlights what he sees as a disturbing trend of disloyalty within Obi’s camp.
“This is coming from someone who harbours deep loathing for Peter Obi while masquerading as a supporter,” Okonkwo stated in his lengthy social media post. He accused Kazaure of undermining Obi’s political journey while simultaneously trying to maintain her relevance in the political landscape for personal gain.
He went further, citing Kazaure’s own words about Obi: “HEPO believes that his base is growing… I laugh in Swahili,” questioning her authenticity as a spokesperson for the Obi movement. Okonkwo characterised her criticisms as a clear case of self-interest, fuelled by her failed aspirations within the political framework.
“Isn’t it pathetic that this serial blackmailer would come out with unfounded lies against Kenneth Okonkwo just to please Peter Obi?” he asked, suggesting that Kazaure’s approach was driven by ulterior motives rather than a genuine commitment to Obi’s success.
Okonkwo shared insights into Kazaure’s history within the Obi political sphere, revealing her past resignation due to feelings of exclusion after a trip involving Obi. He elaborated that despite her claims of loyalty, Kazaure’s motivations appear steeped in personal dissatisfaction and ambition.
In a shocking twist, Okonkwo recounted a recent incident where Kazaure reportedly requested his presence for an interview to defend the Obi campaign, shortly after he had distanced himself from the Labour Party. “I refused,” he said firmly, indicating that he has officially moved on from his prior affiliations with Obi and the party.
Recent comments have raised eyebrows among supporters and critics alike, with Okonkwo emphasising the need for clarity and loyalty in political relationships. He concluded his statements with a warning, asserting that any further attacks on his character will be met with appropriate actions.
As the political climate heats up, this exchange unfolds within a broader narrative of loyalty and betrayal that continues to define the landscape surrounding Peter Obi’s campaign. The public now awaits to see how this internal discord will affect both the candidates involved and the perceptions of their respective supporters.

My attention was drawn to some insinuations by Nana Kazaure, one of the jobless sycophants, who are ruining Peter Obi’s political career. Although her writeup was disjointed and illogical, which should be expected from her limited level of intellect and knowledge, I was able to sieve out such words like “but Mr Okonkwo’s penchant for distractive drama and inconsistency … Given Mr Okonkwo’s association with PO in the past few years, who can truly be called a traitor in the circumstances?” I wonder what the statements “Firstly, since when did one’s refusal to shed the blood of Nigerians on the streets, become betrayal? Secondly, did former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan betray Nigerians too when he said the blood of Nigerians was worth more than his political ambition?” are doing in this writeup because I can’t find the connection whatsoever to the facts in issue. But like I said, she cannot give what she doesn’t have in English construction and coordination.
It is really unfortunate that the real traitor, like Nana, is looking for traitors somewhere else. Let me state that Nana loathes Peter Obi passionately and dislikes his conduct in everything. She is the greatest mocker of Peter Obi at his back. She doesn’t even believe in the lies she tells on TV to defend her “beloved PO” and, actually, disrespectfully, regard PO as a political joker. She is still with PO for her own selfish ends and to remain relevant.
Hear Nana’s description of PO in her own words unedited, “HEPO is of the opinion that his base is growing I laugh in swahili. Those are carefully crafted lies and he only has to look at Edo state elections to get his answer. People see him and marvel and call themselves Obidient does not mean he has their vote. HEPO/HEOtti appointed a 29 man committee as CTC where are they? How many of them are truly committed to him or even the cause? HEPO should not allow himself be decieved much longer. I rest my case.”
This is the submission of someone claiming to be speaking for Peter Obi. Kenneth Okonkwo is the same privately and publicly. This is Nana’s real opinion about Peter Obi. Who’s the real traitor?
It’s pathetic that this serial blackmailer, who actually blackmails everyone, would be bold enough to come out with unfounded lies against Kenneth Okonkwo just to please Peter Obi, who may have advised her to write against me. Hear her opinion about my friend Tanko Yunusa who told me he brought her into the media group, “Tanko, while he might be “an astute politician” he is not a technocrat and it’s glaring. Sadly, rather than start with a team and involve/employ those who are technocratic and can roll up their sleeves to do the much needed work, he is more interested in “his Emperor’s new clothes, nomenclature (titles) and tagging along with HEPO everywhere HEPO goes just keeping up appearances. In almost 2 months he hasn’t rallied round able and well meaning Obidients or given just one clear/distinct agenda for Obidients to run with online. Unfortunately, he has not even identified what/where the low hanging fruits are. It would seem to him, being the “Global Obidient Coordinator World Wide” is a tea party.” Her grouse with Tanko was that she wasn’t made the Spokesperson of the Movement. In order to appease her, they made her the Spokesperson, even when they knew she wasn’t qualified.
It’s really very sad for an incompetent leader to surround himself with very unqualified, jobless sycophants who actually have no interest in his progress. Nana goes to TV to speak for Peter Obi, but confesses to people, including to Peter Obi, that she doesn’t even believe in her claims. Hear her words unedited, “I’ve been reflecting on the growth of the Obidient movement and I have some concerns. While I have publicly praised its (as I have always put it), “Quantum Leap Growth” even in my recent interviews on Arise News and Trust TV respectively as recently as 3 days ago, I must confess that, even I question the validity of my claims but thinking that I am part of a team, promoting you and the movement as a brand, as well as the party (as best I could) I felt it not only proper but the responsible thing to do to always speak glowingly on and off air.” Yet, in order to posit the image that all is well, Peter Obi allows them around him. Obviously, they loathe each other. But being an association of dishonest fellows, they are all tagging along. Do you really think that a person like me can operate in such a toxic atmosphere of deceits?
Indeed, Nana had one time resigned because she was not taken along when Obi went with others to her state after saying unprintable things about Peter Obi. Hear her, “… I have tried to put my thoughts together as concisely as I can given the time is 4:18 am, I have not slept a wink. That said, kindly consider this my formal disengagement from speaking for or being part of the Obidient Movement. I put in my very best, remained loyal, fervent and passionate. I have no regrets but I also do not take kindly to ingratitude. Unfortunately, yesterday’s huge omission, total disregard and courtesy for me and my selfless service is definitely the tipping point for me. Like I mentioned over the phone I will not fight or grovel or elbow others out just to have a seat at the table. I thank you exceedingly for the opportunity and I wish you and everyone the very best in all future endeavours. Yours sincerely Nana Sani Kazaure.”
Isn’t it terrible that someone who is claiming to love her boss wrote this unprintable words just because she was not part of a trip to her state? I had to exclude certain things from the letter. If she can put down these things in writing, I don’t need to tell you how terrible her oral conversations are with regard to her boss. Peter Obi chose to invite her for a trip on the jet with him, and the whole idea of resignation was rescinded by Nana. What anyone needs to do to get something from Peter Obi is to harass him because they understand he is desperate and he will yield to their demands, believing that if he finds himself in power all of them will pay for their sins against him. It’s a pity. Who’s now the traitor? I have not made any demand from Peter Obi to date.
I am not the type that looks for trouble, but certainly not the one to shy away from it if thrusted on me. The truth is that I have been the one preventing the wolves from eating up Peter Obi because I see him as a brother. But seeing that he deserves the kind of followers he has, I left him in peace. I will advise him and his team to move on and let me be. Any attempt to make any unfounded reference or insinuations about Kenneth Okonkwo will attract appropriate consequences henceforth.
Isn’t it ridiculous that just recently, after I had resigned from everything Obi and Labour Party, this same Nana pleaded with me to attend an interview on their behalf on one of the leading TV stations to rescue them from barrages of assaults from their traducers. Of course, I refused. I have moved on, and I advise them to move on.
I pity Peter Obi because one of the reasons I left is that most of the people around him detest him and his conducts and he is not deep enough to even decipher. When I discovered that he prefers the flattery of sycophants and admiration of fools, I immediately realised that he is politically doomed, most probably irreparably. As a brother, I still pray for him
