Mele Kyari, the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd, has high regard for the National Assembly and he will continue to honour their calls.
Reacting to the allegations by Rep. Ganiyu, the Chairman of the House ad-hoc committee investigating rehabilitation of the refineries, that the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd., Mele Kyari, is frustrating efforts by the parliament to unravel why the nation’s refineries are not working despite billions of dollars spent on their rehabilitation so far, the Board Chairman of the Group said that Mall Mele Kyari has never disregarded the National Assembly and will never disregard them.
The ad-hoc committee investigating the rehabilitation of the refineries should give the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd., Mele Kyari, time so as to get the best details on the four refineries, the statement said.
Recall that while addressing a news conference in Abuja, the Chairman of the House ad-hoc committee investigating the rehabilitation of the refineries and why the country is still relying on imports, Rep. Ganiyu Johnson, said the Minister, the Group Managing Director, and the Managing Directors of Kaduna, Port Harcourt, and Warri Refineries have refused to appear before the committee on three different occasions.
