The Labour Party has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Distinguished Senator Okey Ezea, who represented Enugu North Senatorial District in the 10th Senate.
In a condolence message issued by the Party’s Interim National Chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman, PhD, the news of Senator Ezea’s passing was described as a “rude shock.” She noted that the late lawmaker was a dedicated public servant who offered his constituents “quality and purposeful representation” throughout his time in the Senate.
According to Usman, Senator Ezea’s patriotism was evident in the number of bills he sponsored and the motions he moved, all geared toward national progress and development. She further described him as a “fine gentleman” whose commitment to public service and democratic growth was unquestionable.

The Labour Party also highlighted Senator Ezea’s unwavering loyalty to the party. Despite political pressures, he remained committed to the platform on which he was elected and, until his passing, stood as the party’s only representative from Enugu State in the National Assembly.
Senator Usman extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, urging them to take solace in the remarkable legacies the late senator left behind. She prayed for God to grant them strength during this difficult period and to grant eternal rest to his soul.
