Lagos Police Recover Stolen 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350, Suspects Identified

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have recovered a 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350, earlier reported stolen at gunpoint on Akin-Olugbade Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The vehicle, a black 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 with registration number WTO 21 AM and Vehicle Identification Number 4JGFB4FB8SB274117, was stolen at about 00:00 hrs on Saturday when four armed men forced the driver out and fled with the SUV, firing a warning shot to disperse passersby.

Eyewitnesses said the robbers arrived while the car was parked with the driver inside and executed the operation within minutes. The driver sustained minor injuries after resisting the attackers.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the recovery of the vehicle and disclosed that the individuals responsible have been identified.

“The Lagos State Police Command has successfully recovered the stolen Mercedes-Benz GLE 350. The suspects involved in the incident have been identified,” SP Adebisi said.

She added that officers acted swiftly following the incident, after the vehicle was last seen heading towards the Ozumba Mbadiwe axis of Victoria Island.

The Command had earlier launched a manhunt for the gang and intensified surveillance at strategic locations across the state.

SP Adebisi assured that further updates will follow as detectives continue their work.

“Investigation is currently ongoing, and the outcome will be communicated in due course,” she stated.

The Lagos State Police Command has urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.
