NAHCON Parleys Mu’assassa On Operational Matters

National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON led by its Chairman Alhaji Zikirullahi Kunle Hassan has met with the members of the Tawafah Company for Pilgrims of African Non- Arab Countries popularly as Mu’ assasa to sought for an explanation on two critical operational matters and proffer solutions for a way forward to forestall reoccurrence.

This was made known in a statement issued by the Assistant Director, Public Affairs NAHCON, Fatima Sanda Usara.

Hassan said the purpose of the parley was to rub minds, share ideas and resolve two crucial 2022 Hajj operational matters which are the Private Tour Operators IBAN account setback and the Poor Feeding arrangement in Mina and Arafah which called for redress for the Pilgrims affected by NAHCON.

Responding, the Chairman of the Mu’ssasa, Ahmad Sindi explained that the IBAN account of the Tour Operators was affected by the lateness of the Hajj announcement, Mismatch of account details, and inaccurate account holder names among others.

Sindi however assured NAHCON that monies are safe and can be retrieved through a formal request and process. He further disclosed that next year, the Mu’ssasa will operate with well-established caterers with adequate manpower and sufficient facilities to carry out its responsibility.

Tawafah Chairman said the Pleasure and well-being of the pilgrims is their utmost priority which was exemplified by the supply of extra meal for the pilgrims at no cost to both the Pilgrims and the Caterers.

In a related development, the NAHCON team also met with delegates from BPKH which is a synonym of the Hajj Saving Scheme in Nigeria and Tabung Hajji in Malaysia respectively. The visit was centered on areas of collaboration, technical cooperation, and also proffer solutions and sharing ideas to tackle numerous challenges associated with Hajj operations.

Present at the parley were: Senator Adamu Bulkachuwa, Chairman of Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs; Hon. Abubakar Nalaraba, Chairman House Committee on Pilgrimage; Representative of Association of Hajj and Umrah Operators in Nigeria. (AHUON); Representative of Nigerian Diplomatic Corps, Representative of the Media. Others are NAHCON’s Commissioner PPMF Alhaji Nura Hassan Yakassai; Commissioner PRSLS, Shiekh Suleiman Momoh, and the Management Staff of the Commission.
