The Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has endorsed Engineer Abdullahi Sule, for another term in office.

Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Tsentse Dandaura (APC, Akwanga North), moved the motion for the endorsement of the governor during the second year anniversary town-hall meeting, in Akwanga, on Saturday.

Hon. Dandaura, said the assembly is asking the people of the state to give another term to Engineer Sule because of his commitment and zeal to develop the state.

The deputy speaker’s motion, was thereafter seconded by Hon. Tsebe Samuel (APC, Akwanga South), with Hon. Tanko Tunga, (APC, Awe North), Majority Leader of the house in attendance.

Hon. Dandaura, emphasized that there is the need to give the governor another term of four years, in order for Engineer Sule, to continue with his laudable development initiatives.

Earlier, former deputy governor of the state, Chief John Michael Abdul, underscored the significance of supporting the present administration, stressing that the time of politics was over and that it is now time for governance.

“We are in this hall today and people will be surprised that I am PDP and I am in this hall. We contested election in 2019 and God gave A. A. Sule victory. He is the governor , not just for APC, he is governor of the entire state,” he said.

Chief Abdul pointed out that, it’s only proper to support the governor as far as governance is concerned.

While commending the governor for his landmark achievement across the state, especially in Akwanga Local Government Area, the former deputy governor however appealed for Engineer Sule to include the Andaha Junction-Ninga road for construction as part of the rural roads development initiative of the administration.

Also speaking, president, Mada Development Association (MDA), Youth Wing, Comrade Kyuni J.K Umaru, highlighted on the development initiatives of the governor in the council, appreciating Engineer Sule, for embarking on the construction of rural roads, the Akwanga neighborhood market, remodeling of the VIP lodge, as well as appointing the son of the area as provost of the College of Education, Akwanga, 40 years after the institution was established.

The MDA Youth Wing president, expressed concern on the incessant armed robbery attacks along the Andaha/Nunku road, urging the state government to put up measures to curtail the menace.

Comrade Umaru, also appealed for more inclusion of youths in governance, urging the governor to train and mentor a new set of leaders that will take charge of affiars in the state.

Responding, governor Sule, pointed out security challenge is a national concern, stressing that his administration is doing its best to address insecurity in parts of the state.

The governor explained that the previous incidences of robbery especially along Akwanga/Nasarawa Eggon, Akwanga/Gudi and Gudi/Garaku, have been tackled, making it difficult for criminals to operate along that axis.

Engineer Sule said his administration will take appropriate steps to address security threats along the Akwanga/Nunku/Gwantu axis.

On youth inclusiveness, the governor assured that his administration will continue to engage the youths, adding that explains why he is not focussing on giving political appointment to youths, but attracting investors that will create employment opportunities for the youths.

Engineer Sule disclosed that, arrangement has been finalized, for the signing of a MoU with Nigeria Floor Mills Limited, where 20, 000 hectares of land will be acquired for cassava and sugarcane plantations, with 20, 000 youths from the state, expected to be employed.

As part of activities marking his second anniversary, the governor earlier on, visited the palace of the Chun Mada, HRH Samson Gamu Yare, flagged off the construction of the Gudi/Moroa rural road, the remodelling of the Akwanga VIP lodge, as well flagging-off of the construction of the Akwanga neighborhood market.
