Dr. Musa Muhammed Maikaya, CEO of the Maikaya Development Foundation, has been making notable moves ahead of the 2027 Nasarawa State Governorship election under the All Progressives Congress (APC). After returning from a recent foreign trip, he made his first private visit to the southern region of Nasarawa State, where he met with elder statesman Alhaji Audu Igbo in Lafia, the Nasarawa State Capital.
Maikaya visit comes following the growing clarion calls and endorsements by youths, women and party chieftains urging him to run for the governorship seat in 2027.
Dr. Maikaya had expressed interest in the 2027 governorship election and has sought the party’s endorsement, emphasizing party unity and support.
His record as a humanitarian and visionary leader, seen through initiatives in education, health, youth empowerment, and women’s empowerment, has earned him widespread support from across Nasarawa State, especially in the Southern, Northern and Western regions.
The Nasarawa South Progressive Network, APC group, and other notable groups have publicly endorsed him as a suitable successor to the current governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, indicating his commitment to service, continuity, and progress.
In a statement issued by Maikaya Media Office on Sunday, 23rd November 2025, said Dr. Musa Muhammed Maikaya’s recent trip to the southern part of Nasarawa State and his meetings with key figures like Alhaji Audu Igbo mark strategic efforts to consolidate grassroots support as he prepares for the 2027 governorship race on the APC platform.
He is regarded as a leading candidate with strong backing from both national and local political leaders due to his proven dedication and developmental projects across the state
Maikaya disclosed that his private visit, was to meet and appreciates his supporters and political leaders like Alhaji Audu Igbo for their massive show of love even while he was not in the country, describing the massive support as a collective strength.
Musa Maikaya prayed to Allah to grant Alhaji Audu Igbo sound health, long life, and prosperity so he can continue offering fatherly advice as the state prepares for the 2027 elections.
