Nigeria Police Take Custody Of Fugitive Linked To Abduction, Alleged Murder Of FRSC Officer And Daughter

The Nigeria Police Force has taken custody of Victor Benjamin Fejemirokun, the fugitive suspect allegedly involved in the abduction and suspected murder of a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer and her young daughter in Osun State.

Fejemirokun was handed over to the Nigeria Police by the Ghana Police Service on Monday in Accra, following a coordinated multi-agency operation led by the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja. The suspect had reportedly fled Nigeria shortly after the incident.

According to a press release signed by CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, on 24th November, 2025, the Ghana Police Service acted on credible intelligence indicating that the suspect was hiding within their jurisdiction. He was arrested and subsequently transferred to the Nigeria Police after Interpol NCB Abuja officers arrived in Accra to complete the handover process.

Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, extended his condolences to the family of the victims and assured them that a comprehensive investigation is underway. He stated that the suspect will be charged in court upon conclusion of the ongoing investigations. The IGP also commended the Ghana Police Service for its cooperation and professionalism throughout the operation.

The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives, tracking down offenders across borders, and strengthening international collaborations in combating transnational crimes.
