….. As IGP Egbetokun Decorates Newly Promoted AIGs, CPs With New Ranks
In a historic move to improve the safety and well-being of police officers and their families, the Nigeria Police on Tuesday put the Force Insurance Company into operation.
Key dignitaries attended the ceremony, including Sen. Abdulhamid Mallam-Madori, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs; DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd), the chairman of the Police Service Commission; and other prominent participants.
An important milestone in the NPF’s dedication to its members’ welfare is the creation of the Force Insurance Company. With advantages including health insurance, life insurance, and other financial protection plans designed to specifically address the demands of law enforcement professionals, the recently established insurance firm will offer police officers complete coverage.
In another development, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, decorated the newly promoted Assistant Inspector-Generals of Police (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs) with their new ranks amidst cheers from their families, friends, and professional colleagues on Monday, 23rd December 2024, at the Goodluck Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Ten CPs were promoted to AIG and seventeen DCs were promoted to substantive CP as part of the promotion. This comes after the Police Service Commission recently approved a promotion.
The newly decorated officers from the rank of CP to AIG include AIG Mustapha Mohammed Bala and AIG Akinwale Adeniran, among others. In addition, the decorated officers from the rank of DCP to CP are CP Adamu Bakori, and CP Abayomi Shogunle, among others.
Bala Umar Chafe, the governor of Zamfara State; Prince Etta Uka Ude, the governor of Ebonyi State; Mr. Chukwuka Ugu, the governor of Enugu State; the Force Management Team; senior police officers in service and retired; promotees’ families; and other dignitaries were present.
As the Nigeria Police Force continues to work towards a safer nation for all citizens, the Inspector-General of Police congratulated the recently promoted officers and gave them the task of carrying out the schedules of their new ranks and using their extensive policing expertise to ensure Nigeria’s safety and security while acting in accordance with the Rule of Law.
