The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited said that the company’s Profit After Tax figure in 2021 is not N687 trillion as the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of NNPC Ltd, Mele Kyari, said during an interview on Arise TV’s “The Morning Show” on Tuesday.
Garba Deen Muhammad, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, NNPC Ltd, in a Tweet on Thursday made this clarification.
“Inadvertently, N687 trillion was mentioned as the company’s profit after tax figure as against N674 billion contained in the 2021 Annual Financial Statement.
“The accurate profit after tax figure for the year 2021, N674 billion, was communicated to the public via our official Twitter account on October 5, 2022, Muhammad said.
Recall that Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd. declared an N674 billion profit after tax for 2021, rising by 134.8% higher than the N287 billion it recorded in 2020.
