The Obidient Movement has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, who reportedly died today in London.
In a condolence message jointly signed by Dr. Yunusa Tanko, National Coordinator of the Movement, and Nana Kazaure, Director of Strategic Communications and Media, the group acknowledged Buhari’s service to the nation both as a military officer and as a civilian leader.
“He will be remembered for his contributions to national development, as a soldier who fought to maintain and preserve the territorial integrity of our nation, and as a statesman who, on two occasions as leader of Nigeria, contributed to national socio-economic development,” the statement read.
The Movement offered prayers for the repose of the former president’s soul and extended condolences to his family and the nation at large.
