The campaign organization of Hon Francis Bartholomew Chima aka OmoBarca has alerted the general public and the electorate in Ajeromi-Ifelodun federal constituency about fake news being orchestrated by mischievous elements regarding the recent Appeal Court Judgment that reaffirmed OmoBarca as the authentic Peoples Democratic Party House of Representatives candidate.
In a press release by the media aide to OmoBarca, M.r Obinna Solace, the said unfounded rumor is disseminated by one Tee Taiwo who functions as a spokesman for Rita Orji to misinform the public.
Solace described as a mere fabrication the news that the Supreme Court has dismissed the judgment of the Appeal Court that just reinstated his principal. Read part of the statement:
“How can a case which has not even been served on all respondents be dismissed? How can a case which has got no date for hearing be dismissed? Are Rita ORJI and her cronies this desperate? How much has the other political parties paid her to confuse the PDP Ajeromi Ifelodun constituency?
“For the sake of clarity, what transpired in the Supreme Court is that Hon. Francis Bartholomew Chima aka OMOBARCA has withdrawn his case appealing the Abuja court of appeal judgment because he has gotten a descent and recent judgment which dismissed the Abuja court of appeal judgment and also declared him the authentic candidate for PDP Ajeromi Ifelodun federal constituency for the House of Representatives candidate here in Lagos state court of appeal.
“Now, Rita ORJI has also filed a case in the Supreme Court to challenge the judgment of the Lagos Court of Appeal which declared Hon. Francis Bartholomew Chima aka OMOBARCA is the authentic candidate of the PDP in the Ajeromi Ifelodun federal constituency.
“Today, the Supreme Court has granted Hon. Francis Bartholomew Chima his request to withdraw his case and the court also advised Rita ORJI to serve all the concerned parties in her filing and a date for hearing in march (btw 14th and 16th) of March…3 weeks after the election.
“As it stands today, Hon. Francis Bartholomew Chima aka OMOBARCA is still the authentic Candidate of our party the PDP in Ajeromi Ifelodun federal constituency and by the special grace of God the incoming Representative at National Assembly for the good people of Ajeromi Ifelodun Federal Constituency.
“Let all ward Chairmen, Zonal chairmen, the LGA leadership, and all PDP lovers ignore the baseless claims of Tea-Taiwo as OMOBARCA is and remains our candidate.”
The election for President, Senate, and House of Representatives is scheduled to hold on Saturday 25th February 2023.
