Less than twenty-four hours after the crime was committed, personnel of the Doma Division of the Nasarawa State Police Command successfully arrested a well-known car snatching syndicate and retrieved a stolen vehicle in a prompt and exemplary operation.
According to a press release signed Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, on June 1, 2025, at about 1800hrs, acting on credible intelligence, police operatives arrested four suspects along the Doma-Lafia Road. The suspects are:
Ibrahim Dahiru (Male, 30 years) – Angwan Rogo, Jos, Plateau State
Abdulrazaq Muhammed (Male, 27 years) – Angwan Rogo, Jos, Plateau State
Muhammad Sani (Male, 28 years) – Potiskum, Yobe State
Mustapha Isah (Male, 23 years) – Misau, Bauchi State
The suspects allegedly conspired and carried out an armed carjacking in Enugu State, during which they forcefully snatched a black Toyota Venza with registration number KWL 668 GN (Abuja) at gunpoint.
Through prompt intelligence gathering and seamless inter-state collaboration, the suspects were intercepted and arrested along the Doma-Lafia axis, and the stolen vehicle was immediately recovered.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, described the arrest as a major breakthrough in the fight against organized vehicle theft. He emphasized that the Command remains resolute in ensuring that criminal activities are swiftly tackled and perpetrators brought to justice.
He further commended the gallant efforts of the operatives involved in the operation and reassured members of the public of the Nigeria Police Force’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property across the state.
The suspects are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing to unravel the full scope of their criminal network and recover any additional stolen property.
