The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed a viral document circulating on social media alleging an immediate withdrawal of police personnel attached to certain VIPs. The document, purportedly issued by the 50 Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron in Abuja and signed by a supposed CSP Suleiman Abdullahi, was on Friday described as fake and misleading.
According to a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the individual named in the document does not exist within the 50 PMF Squadron, and no PMF squadron has an Admin Officer of the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police. He described the document as a deliberate attempt by mischief-makers to cause confusion and undermine public trust.

Hundeyin confirmed that while the implementation of the Presidential Directive on the withdrawal of police officers from VIP protection has begun, it is being conducted in a gradual, well-structured, and professionally supervised manner to prevent any security lapses.
He assured that the safety of Nigerians remains the Force’s top priority, adding that adequate measures have been put in place to maintain law and order throughout the transition.
The Police urged the public to disregard the fake document and rely solely on official communication channels for accurate information.
