Police Deepen Collaboration With Security Experts As IGP Egbetokun Tours Intelligence Installations In Abuja

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, on Thursday, 21st August 2025, inspected newly installed intelligence infrastructure at Idu Community in Abuja as part of efforts to strengthen intelligence-led policing in Nigeria.

The inspection, which forms part of the Force’s strategic engagement with indigenous security experts, was conducted in partnership with EIB STRATOC, a homegrown security solutions provider. The collaboration, according to the Police, is aimed at deepening cooperation in enhancing Nigeria’s overall security architecture.

IGP Egbetokun, who was accompanied by top police chiefs including DIG Ben Nebeolisa Okolo (Force Intelligence Department), DIG Adebowale Williams (ICT), AIG Adeleke Taiwo (Operations), and CP Felix Obe (Federal Operations), stressed that intelligence gathering remains the cornerstone of modern policing.

He noted that the Force, under his leadership, is committed to leveraging technology, innovation, and expertise—both local and international—to combat evolving security threats. The IGP assured that the partnership would not only boost operational capabilities but also foster community trust and strengthen synergy with key stakeholders.

Commending the expertise of EIB STRATOC, Egbetokun urged other security experts and Nigerians at large to work closely with the Police and sister security agencies in promoting technology-driven intelligence gathering to fortify the country’s internal and national security framework.

The visit was confirmed in a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
