The Nasarawa State Police Command, Karshi Division on Saturday, 29th June 2024 upon receiving a distress call about an ongoing armed robbery operation around Karshi by-pass in collaboration with the military, swiftly moved to the scene.
According to a press release on Saturday signed by the Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, said that on sighting security agents, the criminals opened fire on them and a gun duel ensued.
The statement read, “Consequently, two of the criminals were fatally injured and rushed to the hospital, where they subsequently died while receiving treatment, and others escaped with bullet wounds.
“The general area was combed by the combined team where two suspects namely: Yusuf Lawal ‘M’ 27yrs a resident of Nyanya FCT and Hamza Abdullahi ‘M’ of the orange market, Mararaba whom both hail from Bauchi state were arrested in connection to the commission of the crime
“Exhibits recovered from the suspects include 3 cartridges, 3 Cutlasses, 19 handsets of different brands, 2 Laptops, 9 pairs of shoes, a wristwatch, 1 MP 3 player, 1 power bank, 3 torches, 3 bags, 2 ear pods, a smoother, sachets of Milk and Milo and the sum of two thousand six hundred Naira.
“The commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, has commended the officers for a job well done and charged them to sustain the tempo.
