The Managing Director of the Port Harcourt Refining Company, Engr Ahmed Dikko has assured Nigerians that the Port Harcourt Refinery rehabilitation will be ready in 24 months.
Dikko stated this on Thursday while receiving the Swift Reporters Man of the Year Award in Abuja.
He said that the Phase One of the Rehabilitation has been completed successfully.
While giving his acceptance speech during the award ceremony, Dikko said that his Management team is is committed and transparency and honesty in delivering not only a refinery functioning optimally but sustainable.
“We have much ground on the rehabilitation of the Refinery and in 24 months, the refinery will be ready and functional, Dikko said.
The Executive Director, Services of the Port Harcourt Refining Company, Mrs. Uduakobong Akpan commended Engr. Dikko for his transparency, integrity and confidence in ensure the Port Harcourt Refinery is back to optimal use.
In March, 2021, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved the sum of $1.5 billion for the rehabilitation exercise.
The repair, which is been executed by Tecnimont SPA, an Italian company, will be done in three phases of 18, 24 and 44 months.
Recall that in May, 2021, Mele Kyari, NNPC Group Managing Director and officials of Tecnimont SPA attended a kick off meeting on the rehabilitation of Port Harcourt Refinery Company (PHRC).
