The Executive Governor of Borno State, His Excellency, Prof Babagana Umaru Zulum has applauded the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami FNCS, FBCS, FIIM for his efficient supervision and policy direction being provided.
The Executive Governor stated that the successful completion and commissioning of various projects spread across the country under the leadership of Dr Pantami is a testimony of effective implementation of policies, stressing that the projects and programmes of the Ministry will create employment, steer the economy and contribute greatly to the GDP of the Nation.
“Honestly speaking not because the Minister of Communications is here with us, the activities of the Ministry of Communications was not well known to all of us many Nigerians before his arrival as the Minister of Communications”. Adding that, “we have applauded his competence in handling the affairs of the Ministry”.
Governor Zulum made this known today while making his remarks as the chairman of occasion during the virtual commissioning of various completed projects under the digital economy sector.
The projects commissioned included;
1.Emergency Communications Centre (ECC), Kaduna;
2.Information Technology Hub, University of Lagos;
3.Information Technology Hub, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna;
4.Information Technology Community Centre, Daura, Katsina;
5.Tertiary Institution Knowledge Center, Polytechnic Iwollo, Enugu; and
6.NigComSat Northwest Regional Office, Kaduna.
The event had the Honourable Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed Shamsuna and Honourable Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola as Special Guest of Honours.
On His part, Mr Fashola described Dr Pantami as a positive addition to the Federal Executive Council, declaring that his youthfulness is a great asset that is assisting the government and Mr President to deliver the promises that have been made.
In his remarks, the Honourable Minister revealed that all the projects are strategically geared towards supporting the development of Nigeria’s Digital Economy for a Digital Nigeria, in line with the mandate assigned to the Ministry by His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.
The Minister also disclosed that all the projects are aligned with the 3 focus areas of the Federal Government, namely economic development, security and anti-corruption. He further described the projects as a reflection of the dividends of sustainable developmental programmes of the President Buhari administration.
