The Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd), mni, has congratulated newly recruited Police Constables who are passing out from various Police Colleges across the country, describing the ceremony as a proud moment for Nigeria and the Nigeria Police Force.
In a statement issued by the Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, the PSC Chairman expressed satisfaction that the Commission, constitutionally empowered to recruit personnel into the Nigeria Police Force, played a vital role in admitting the new officers into the policing profession.
Argungu reminded the recruits that the Commission will continue to monitor their conduct and performance throughout their service, urging them to embrace their duties with dedication and integrity.
He charged the new Constables to play active roles in the fight against terrorism, banditry, and other forms of insecurity, while also working to strengthen public trust in the Police.
Emphasising that professionalism, discipline, and respect for human rights must remain the foundation of their service, Argungu assured the officers of the Commission’s continuous support in career progression and capacity development.
“Today marks the beginning of your noble career in service to your fatherland. I urge you to serve with honour, courage, and patriotism. Your success will bring pride to your families, the Police Force, and our great nation,” he declared.
The PSC Chairman reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to ensuring that the new Constables are well-equipped to protect lives and property, uphold justice, and defend the integrity of Nigeria.
