The Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr Ibrahim Isa Pantammi has said that responsible journalism is a pillar for good governance.
The Honourable Minister also reiterated that the Buhari’s administration will continue to explore means of reducing the cost of data and internet access.
Dr Pantami stated this while playing host to the Executive members of the National Association of Information Technology Reporters, in Abuja
Dr Pantami said others indices that have made data expensive such as Right of Way charge in various States and Critical National Infrastructural have been addressed with the cooperation of various States Government.
He called on ICT Rreporters to be thorough in their reportage as they serve as a beacon of hope to nation building through digital Skills awareness.
The President of the National Association of Information Technology Reporters, Mr Blessings Olaifa commended the effort of the Minister in repositioning the ICT Digital Economy Sector in Nigeria.
He pledged the support of ICT Reporters in enhancing the Digital Economy sector.
The visit featured the presentation of an award of exceptional performance to the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Pantami. The Spokesperson to the Honourable Minister, Mrs Uwa Suleiman was also recognized for her outstanding performance and support to NITRA.
