The Nigeria Police has successfully completed its investigation into a significant corporate fraud case involving three Ghanaian nationals—Samuel Esson Jonah, Kojo Mensah Ansah, and Victor Quainoo—and their Nigerian associate, Abu Arome. The accused are charged with executing a complex scheme to fraudulently take control of JonahCapital Nigeria Limited, as well as its interests in Houses for Africa Nigeria Limited and River Park Estate.
Comprehensive investigations have uncovered that the suspects unlawfully inflated the company’s share capital and allocated themselves 99 million shares utilizing forged documents and signatures. They also impersonated Nigerian citizens in dealings with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to facilitate these illicit activities.
Despite claims circulating in some media outlets, it is important to clarify that the suspects have not been cleared by any panel of the Nigeria Police. They have consistently ignored multiple invitations to cooperate with the investigation, instead choosing to embark on smear campaigns targeting the Inspector-General of Police, the Nigeria Police Force, the investigative officers, and filing unfounded legal actions against the force.
In accordance with diplomatic protocols, the Ghanaian High Commission has been informed of the situation. The Police Force will now move forward with prosecuting the suspects on charges including corporate fraud, forgery, criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and obstruction of justice.
Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun reaffirms the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to upholding due process, transparency, and the safeguarding of legitimate business interests. We encourage foreign investors to actively explore the diverse investment opportunities available in Nigeria while respecting the rule of law and fostering diplomatic relationships. The Nigeria Police Force is committed to ensuring the protection of investments crucial for economic growth and recovery.
