Rivers State National Assembly Caucus: An Assemblage Of Habitual Adult Bedwetters – APC Chieftain

…. Says their fallacious communique only exposed their ignorance; insists ousted Martin Amaewhule and co-travellers are history
…Blames Prof Yakubu Led INEC For Crisis In Rivers State Assembly
… Highlighted that If President Tinubu allows Fubara to be humiliated for respecting him as an elder and President of Nigeria by withdrawing his suit from the Court, then posterity will never be fair to President Tinubu.

“……Withdrawing the appeal from the Supreme Court by the governor and the dismissal of the suit with costs had nothing to do with the case of defection. Rather than flying a kite and being preemptive, I advise the Rivers State National Assembly Caucus to face their duties in the NASS.

Nigerians are waiting to hear from the apex court; let us tarry a while and see what happens.

I blame the INEC for not being alive to its statutory role as an independent umpire. The 27 lawmakers and their demi-god are boasting and parading themselves as lawmakers because Prof. Yakubu Mahmood has refused to obey the court and conduct bye-elections to replace the vacant positions in the Rivers State House of Assembly….”

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, on Thursday, described some legislators under the aegis of the Rivers State National Assembly Caucus as an assemblage of habitual adult bedwetters. Eze maintained that the lawmakers have lost a sense of decency and focus and are bereft of moral rectitude, following their quest to retard the socio-political and economic advancement of Rivers State.

Eze, a member of the APC Legacy Media Team, was reacting to the recent communique by those he tagged as a group of Abuja-based ‘political area boys’ on the protracted leadership crisis rocking the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Recall that the Rivers State National Assembly Caucus had accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara of procuring the services of some persons, including Senior Advocates of Nigeria, to turn the law and judgments of court upside down to skew public opinion to align with his position and give him a reason not to obey any judgment of court that is against him or not in his favour.

In a statement released in Port-Harcourt, Chief Eze described the attitude of the Rivers state lawmakers as parochial, incongruous and wicked, insisting that they have lost the essence of being called lawmakers.

Ordinarily, Chief Eze said he wouldn’t have been perturbed by the baseless and incoherent communique released by the said lawmakers but for the imperativeness of setting the records straight.

Most importantly, the APC Chieftain noted that, from their stance, the afore mentioned group of Rivers State lawmakers have become a tool in the hands of detractors that are hell-bent on destroying the State for their selfish interests.

At this point, Eze reminded the Rivers State National Assembly Caucus that the core function of a legislator is to make laws, or legislation, adding that legislators also represent their constituents, and oversee the executive and judicial branches of government.

Rather than concentrate on how to provide purposeful representation to their respective constituents, “those busy-bodies and middle of the road lawmakers are busy playing politics with the progress and development of Rivers State.

It beats one’s imagination that the Rivers State House of Assembly members under Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule, upon defection to the APC, are still laying claim to their vacant seats.

Allowing the issue at stake to chase shadows is repulsive as there was no time Femi Falana SAN, misinterpreted judgments of court, other than speaking the law.

For these political chameleons to eat their vomits, swallow their prides and lie from the pit of hell that defection never took place in Rivers state is highly unfortunate and morally debasing.

We want Nigerians and the world to know that the withdrawal of the counter affidavit by the Rivers State Governor in a suit by Amaewhule was based on the truce by President Bola Tinubu. The question is; when has it become a sin for a governor to obey a President.

As a good citizen, peace loving and sincere man, Christian, a man of respect, very honest and a leader, Governor Fubara did not think twice before accepting Tinubu’s intervention on the Rivers State political crisis.

So, the governor withdrew his counter affidavit because President Tinubu requested that all warring parties should sheathe their swords and come to the table for a truce. Unfortunately, those who feel Nigeria is their fathers’ estate, those dictators in the making, those who don’t have respect for their elders and Mr President, blatantly refused to withdraw their processes before the court.

If President Tinubu allows Fubara to be humiliated for respecting him as an elder and President of Nigeria, then posterity will never be fair to President Tinubu.

Relying on the fact that Fubara withdrew his processes upon which Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court based his judgment, that there was no defection in Rivers State and that the governor should represent the State’s Budget to the defected 27 lawmakers, is to say the least, an affront on the temple of Justice.

Coming to think of it, the fight in Rivers State is as a result of the grand plan to make Nigeria, a one party state.

The FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike is working tirelessly to annihilate the opposition, especially the PDP, so as to actualize the ambition of the APC government.

Though, we are anxiously waiting for the Supreme Court to make pronouncement on the leadership crisis rocking the Rivers State House of Assembly, however, I make bold to state that no amount of intimidation, conspiracy, arm-twisting or murdering the law, will make the people of Rivers State fold hands and watch anti democratic forces to hijack the state from the ruling PDP. What Wike could not fathom when he was a governor, Fubara cannot be made to look little.

I advise Wike, his foot soldiers, and the 27 rolling stones to retrace their steps, be cautious and mindful of the fact that the Judiciary as the bastion of hope and justice for the common man cannot be swayed for one’s selfish aggrandizement.

Withdrawing the appeal Supreme Court by the governor and the dismissal of the suit with cost, had nothing to do with the case of defection. Rather than flying a kite and being pre-emptive, I advise the Rivers State National Assembly Caucus to face their duties in the NASS.

Nigerians are waiting to hear from the Apex court, let us tarry a while and see what happens.

I blame the INEC for not being alive to it’s statutory role as an independent umpire.
