The South West Youth Alliance has dismissed as false a report by Sahara Reporters alleging that Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Muyiwa Adejobi, was removed from his position and transferred to Delta State Command over controversies and scandals.
In a statement signed by its National Publicity Director, Adenike Ajanlekoko, the group described the report as “mischievous and misleading,” insisting that Adejobi’s redeployment was in line with the Nigeria Police Force’s normal career progression structure.
The statement stressed that Adejobi was not removed from office but redeployed in accordance with his rank as a Deputy Commissioner of Police, adding that his promotion and transfer were not punitive measures.
The group faulted Sahara Reporters’ portrayal of Adejobi as a “controversial officer,” maintaining that he had no record of scandals and was never accused of repressing social media users or shielding the police from accountability. Instead, they noted, his leadership was defined by professionalism, transparency, and public engagement.
On allegations linking Adejobi to “women issues,” the South West Youth Alliance said such claims were fabrications aimed at tarnishing his image, describing him as a responsible family man dedicated to his marriage.
The group further emphasized Adejobi’s achievements as Force PRO, including registering all Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) as members of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to strengthen professional standards. According to the group, his tenure brought discipline, order, and excellence to police public communication.
The South West Youth Alliance urged Sahara Reporters to desist from publishing falsehoods and character attacks, while expressing pride in Adejobi’s contributions to the Nigeria Police Force and the nation.
