The South West Youth Alliance has dismissed as false a report circulating online claiming that Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Moshood Jimoh, defied the Inspector-General of Police and refused to comply with a Federal High Court order.
In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Adenike Ajanlekoko, the group described the publication as “misleading, unfounded, and deliberately crafted to malign the integrity of the Lagos State Police Command.”
According to SWYA, the Nigeria Police Force adheres to established legal procedures when served with ex parte court orders.
The group noted that such directives are not implemented arbitrarily but are first subjected to verification by the Police Legal Directorate to confirm their authenticity, jurisdiction, and enforceability. This process, it added, is carried out through the court bailiff in line with standard practice.

SWYA expressed concern that individuals or groups would bypass known procedures and rush to the media with allegations it described as baseless and capable of misleading the public.
It urged stakeholders to allow legal processes to run their course, noting that any aggrieved party retains the constitutional right to seek redress through appropriate judicial channels rather than resort to public statements that could undermine trust in law-enforcement institutions.
The group reaffirmed its confidence in the Lagos State Police Command under CP Moshood Jimoh, commending what it described as a consistent display of accountability, integrity, and professionalism.
SWYA called on the public to disregard the circulating report and rely on verified sources for accurate information on sensitive legal and security matters.
