All is now set to launch a book titled: The Kwande People in Nigerian Politics, a chronicle of the giant political strides of the people of Kwande Local Government of Benue state towards deepening the roots of democratic governance of Nigeria.
The book which is written by three indigenes of the area, Mr Success Akende Akpera, Mr Nater Gbar Akaakohol Ive and Mr Lubem Gena is due to launch this Friday, 17th January 2023 at the Adikpo Comprehensive College playground, Adikpo, the headquarters of the local government.
The public presentation of the book will hold under the distinguished chairmanship son of an illustrious son of the soil and business tycoon, Dr Paul Ubwa, the (MD/CEO of Pleasure Travels Group of Companies.
Kwande is a collective name for Tiv sons and daughters who were assigned a nickname. The original descendants of Tiv who bear this name are of Ichongu and Ipusu stocks.
“The first chapter of the book is all about the geographical setting of the Kwande area. The second chapter is about the people of Kwande, their culture and economy as well as the natural resources in the Kwande Intermediate Area.
“The focus of chapter three is the history of Kwande people, how national Politics has impacted them and their reaction to national politics”.
The non-partisan event which is billed to be attended by a diverse section of political gladiators of all political affiliations and the general public is scheduled to commence ffromAMAMM.
