It could be recalled that His Excellency, The Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya upon assumption to office in May 2019 vowed to revitalize land administration in the state, a commitment that led to the appointment of Dr Kabiru Usman Hassan, the pioneer Director General of Gombe Geographic Information System (GOGIS), an agency which saddled with the mandate for the administration and management of land matters in the state.
Since after the appointment of the substantial Director General, Governor Yahaya has been very supportive to the smooth take-off of the new agency. The Governor is fulfilling his pre-post-campaign promises made to the people of Gombe by giving all necessary support and provide enabling environment for the agency to render its befitting service to the populace.
While the Governor focus more on developmental projects and human capital development in the state, he is also mindful of the fact that, strengthening and revitalization of government MDAs are of paramount importance to the overall development of the state, that’s why His Excellency committed funds for the construction of GOGIS Customer service Center and rehabilitation of a new office complex (soon to-be-commission) to further ensure the agency has conducive working environment.
Recalled that His Excellency recently also approved the release of the two (2) utility vehicles for the engagement(s) of the agency. However, we sincerely thank the Governor for the constant support and provide enabling environment for the smooth running of GOGIS activities.
