… Urges them to show brotherly love and care, while reassuring them of a watertight security
The Enugu State Police Commissioner, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu has felicitated with the good people of Enugu State, both home and abroad, as they join other Nigerians and the rest of the world to mark this season’s Christmas and New Year 2024 celebrations.
A statement on Saturday, 23rd December 2023 signed by the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, said that the CP wished them a festive season filled with peace, happiness, and joy, urging everyone to celebrate responsibly and ensure brotherly love and care, particularly for the poor and needy, as such acts are the reasons for the season.
According to DSP Ndukwe, the CP has ordered the State Command’s Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Heads of Tactical and Operational Units to, in line with the already devised 2023 Yuletide Crime-Prevention Strategy (YCPS), intensify, and sustain the existing crime-busting tempo in the State.
He also tasked them to ensure robust visibility patrol and raiding of criminal black spots within their areas of responsibility, warning that they would be held vicariously liable for any untoward security breaches in their spheres of coverage.
“Consequently, the Commissioner has reassured Ndị Enugu State of watertight security during and beyond the period of the yuletide, calling on them to remain law-abiding even as they celebrate and relish the serene security atmosphere existing in the State. He, however, urges them to be security conscious and promptly say something when they see something, by calling the Command’s emergency hotlines at 08032003702, 08075390883, 08086671202, or 08098880172; or by sending emails to infoenugupolice@gmail.com
“Once again, the CP, on behalf of the Officers and Men of the Enugu State Police Command, wishes all and sundry merry Christmas and a most prosperous New Year 2024, the statement said.
