….Orders massive deployment, supervision, and coordination of security and crime Prevention Plan
….Says security and safety of citizens remain top priorities this festive season.
The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Ahmed Ammani, FDC, has ordered all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Heads of Tactical and Operational Units of the Command to massively deploy all the operational, intelligence, and other crime-fighting resources at their disposal in compliance with the order of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Bab and to actualize the operational and intelligence-driven plan designed to ensure a safe and secured atmosphere during and beyond the Christmas and New Year celebrations
According to a press release signed by the Enugu State Command Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe said the CP orders them to visibly patrol all the highways, streets, and places of public interest, as well as ensure the security and safety of the citizenry.
The Commissioner further orders the Officers in Charge of the State Traffic Department and the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB), to ensure the massive deployment of personnel to effectively manage the anticipated upsurge in road traffic within Enugu metropolis and other places in the State; as well as the gathering of necessary, credible and actionable crime-prevention information and intelligence.
He also orders the Deputy Commissioners of Police in charge of the Department of Operations and the State CID Enugu, to respectively ensure the proper supervision and coordination of all the operational and intelligence/investigation activities, geared towards actualizing the Command’s 2022 Yuletide Security and Safety Plan.
Consequently, the CP has warmly felicitated with Ndị Enugu State, both home and abroad, as they join Christians all over the world to mark this year’s Christmas and New Year 2023 celebrations. He reassures that citizens’ security and safety during and after the yuletide remains the Command’s top priority. He, therefore, urges all and sundry to celebrate responsibly and show genuine love and care to one another, especially the poor and needy in society.
The CP urged the good people of the State to always, remain law-abiding, and vigilant and promptly report suspected criminals and their activities to the nearest Police Station.
