As the 2023 General elections approach, the Nigeria Police has reiterated its determination to ensure that it remained civil, neutral and professional while enforcing all laws for adequate and effective management of election security in Nigeria.
According to the Force spokesperson, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, the Inspector General of Police is partnering with all interest groups, companies and foreign agencies to actualize its goals.
Recently, the IGP met with some companies to procure non-lethal weapons, water canons, etc for crowd control, and other anti-vice operations, as the country moves into the electioneering process and political activities for the 2023 general elections.
“We urge political parties, candidates, groups and individuals to respect the law, and work towards the maintenance of law and order, peaceful coexistence and harmony in Nigeria, before, during and after the elections, Adejobi said.
Recall that the Inspector General of Police last week held strategic meetings with the police management team including Commissioners of Police across the country with the 2023 General Elections as the main agenda.
