2023: Governor Inuwa Leads APC Leadership, Stalwarts To Present Flags To State House Of Assembly Candidates

Charges Flag Bearers To Remain Resolute Towards Party’s Victory, As He Canvases Top-To-Bottom Votes For APC

After touring the 114 Wards of Gombe State canvassing votes for the All Progressives Congress, APC candidates at all levels, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa has embarked on yet another round of political journey as his party gathers more momentum toward a sweeping victory in the forthcoming general elections.

According to a press release signed by the Director-General (Press Affairs) Gombe Government House, Ismaila Uba Misilli, said that the Governor’s team first visited the hilltop town of Tula Wange of Kaltungo LGA to present the flag to the State House of Assembly candidate for Kaltungo East Constituency.

Governor Inuwa said in Tula Wange that he was astonished by the warm reception accorded him by the people of the constituency which he described as proof of their unflinching support for his reelection bid, assuring him to continue to maintain this good relationship with them.

The governor said the flag presentation is in fulfilment of the national leadership of the Party.

He said, “this flag represents the party’s recognition of competency, loyalty and credibility of a candidate. The flag presentation is a way of formally confirming the commandership of the candidates in their respective constituencies in the forthcoming elections”.

He added that APC has brought the leadership style that the people have been clamouring for a long; the leadership that always accords with the people’s interests and concerns an utmost priority.

He called on people to use their PVCs to vote for APC’s candidates at all levels for consolidation of the achievements of the incumbent government.

” I urge you to vote for candidates of the APC from President, Senator, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly members for progress, development, and continuity of good governance,” Governor Unuwa appealed to voters in the area as he assured that the opposition’s party cannot shake the APC.

At both Tula and Kaltungo towns, while canvassing support for the legislative candidates which include the current majority leader of the state house of assembly, Yerima Ladan, and Iliya Suleiman, the governor said that voting for the candidates would ensure the smooth running of government.

Inuwa described both the two House of Assembly candidates as grassroots politicians who have the wherewithal to lead the party to victory in their respective constituencies.

Responding after receiving the flag, the APC State House Candidate for Kaltungo East Constituency, Hon. Yerima Ladan Gaule said he has accepted the challenge and assured to lead the fight for APC’s victory in the Constituency and beyond.

At Kaltungo West, Governor Inuwa said he is much convinced by the support he enjoys from the people of the constituency and the LGA in general, expressing optimism of a resounding victory for the party.

In his response, the APC flag bearer for Kaltungo West, Iliya Suleiman said, his constituency is a stronghold of the APC and will continue to be, assuring move the party to victory.

At both constituencies, the governor called on people who are yet to collect their Permanent Voters’Cards to do so as it is the only way to elect good leaders who are going to pilot their affairs at different levels.

During the event in Kaltungo, the governor’s team made a big catch of an opposition figure and former party Chairman, Mr Philemon Layi who defected from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and joined the APC alongside his supporters. The former PDP stalwart vowed to work tirelessly towards delivering Kaltungo LGA and Gombe south to the APC in the forthcoming elections.

Party chieftains who supported the governor during the flag presentation included: Alh. Baba Abuja, APC Deputy Chairman who represented the State Chairman, Director General State Campaign Council, Barrister, Zubair Muhammad Umar, Gombe State Coordinator, Tinubu/Shettima Campaign, Dr Jamilu Isiyaka Gwamna, Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, Sen. Joshua Lidani among others.
