At the inception of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration, he made a promise to the people and in line with his commitment to fulfilling those promises as outlined in his inaugural address;
One of such promises was the modernization and equipping the university town of Nsukka to compete favorably with other university towns in Nigeria.
Governor Ugwuanyi who also promised to create new urban centers for the socio-economic expansion of the state and its residents and indigenes, administration of Governor Ugwuanyi has delivered a befitting conference center, adjacent to the newly constructed State Secretariat Annex at Ede-Oballa in Nsukka Local Government Area.
The conference center comprises multiple halls, indoor activity hubs, and recreational facilities such as adult and children’s swimming pools and a lawn tennis court.
The 5km road project of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration stretching from the University of Nigeria Nsukka(UNN) New Gate by Nru Junction to 9th Mile/Makurdi expressway, COMPLETED to a commendable standard with drainages and road markings to provide access to the newly licensed State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS), Igbo-Enu, Enugu State.
With the commencement of installation of solar-powered street lights and perimeter fencing of the permanent site of the newly licensed State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS), Igbo Enu, Enugu State, completion of the faculty buildings, students’ hostel blocks and water supply and reticulation project, ongoing speedy construction of the Teaching Hospital, as well as the massive construction of the access and internal roads in the new Medical University, which is at the stone-based stage and being handled by Ferotex Construction Company Limited, among other projects, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration is up to speed to deliver and inaugurate the brand new, full-fledged, State-owned Medical University for increased access to quality university education for the teeming youths, enhanced healthcare service delivery for the people of Enugu State and beyond, and rural development and socio-economic expansion in line with the governor’s inaugural address in 2015.
