Again, Police Arrest Suspected Armed Robbers In Nasarawa State

Nasarawa Division policemen have been arresting armed robbery suspects and recovering exhibits as part of a persistent campaign against criminal activity in Nasarawa State.

According to a press release on Monday, 27th May 2024 signed by the Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, said that this is in reaction to a distress call that was received by the Divisional Police officer, Nasarawa Division, CSP Mohammed Padah that on 26/5/2024 at about 0240hrs, armed hoodlums attacked some student lodges and a Hotel in Gunki area of Nasarawa LGA where they injured two students of Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa and cart away cell phones and other items.

Responding, Police operatives swiftly raced to the scene and rushed the injured victims to General Hospital, Nasarawa, while the criminals were given a hot chase.

Consequently, four suspects were arrested namely: Usman Abdullahi of Sabon Layi Keffi, Abdullahi Mohammed, and Ibrahim Musa both males of Angwan Tiv Masaka and Fa’ad Idris of the Jahun area of Bauchi State.

One blood-stained Knife, one jack Knife, scissors, 8 Apple iPhones, 27 Assorted Android phones of different brands, 2 Laptops, 5 torch lights, 2 MP3 music players, 4 bags, 6 power banks and a cash sum of Two hundred and ninety-eight thousand Naira (N298,000) were recovered from the suspects as exhibits.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada has commended the Divisional Police officer and his men for their pragmatic display of gallantry and professional dexterity; he urged them to sustain the tempo and assure members of the public that the Command will not relent in its effort to ensure public safety.
