The Assistant Inspector-General of Police Zone 7 Command, AIG Adebowale Williams on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Niger State, Alh. Muhammad Umar Bago.
A statement on Thursday, 20th July 2023 signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 7 Command, Abuja, DSP Mustapha B. Abdulkadir, said that the AlG was accompanied by Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, CP Ogundele Joshua Ayodeji, Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations Zone 7 Command, DCP A. A Elleman, Deputy Commissioner of Police Finance and Administration Zone 7 Command, DCP Uduak Ita, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Zone 7 CID, ACP Tino Dangana.
The AlG informed Alh. Muhammad Umar Bago of his arrival as the new Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone7 Command has discussed with the Commissioner of Police Niger State Command the security situation bedeviling the State.
The AlG informed the Governor that he has been getting situation reports daily about the security issues in the state, and in line with the mission and vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the Zone is already working on the crime trends which includes; Banditry, Kidnapping, Armed Robbery, Cattle Rustling e.tc., which has been analyzed and will soon be brought to the barest minimum.
The AlG solicits maximum support and cooperation from his Excellency to sustain the prevailing peace and stability in Niger State.
In response to the AIG, Alh. Muhammad Umar Bago welcomed the AIG to the Zone and also promised to play his part in supporting the Police in the discharge of their duties.
He urged the AlG to come for another meeting in the State Capital, in order to meet the various Stakeholders in the state, as it is necessary to have all hands on deck when it comes to the issue of security.
The Governor appreciated the works of the Police in Niger State, adding that just recently, the police in conjunction with other security agencies were able to rescue some kidnap victims who were picked up from their homes in Magama LGA Niger State, in the forests of Zamfara State, and they’ll soon be reunited with their families.
His Excellency also seeks for the deployment of more personnel to the state and wished the AIG a successful tenor in Zone 7 Command.
The meeting was concluded with an exchange of pleasantries and a group photograph to strengthen the already existing cordial relationship.
