The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 7 Command, AIG Adebowale Williams on Wednesday received in his Office, the Executive Committee Members of Hotel Owners Forum Abuja, led by the President Mrs. Funmi Kazeem. Other members include; Mr. Onofiok Ekong Jnr, Chief Dr. Eze Udeh, Comptroller Samuel Chinda Rtd (Provost), and Mr. Habila Solomon.
A statement on Thursday, 20th July 2023 signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 7 Command, Abuja, DSP Mustapha B. Abdulkadir, said that issues discussed orbits around the security of the FCT in that, some Hotels harbour criminals without knowing who they really are.
The AIG advised the Forum to be more proactive by putting in place techniques to get the real identities of occupants before accommodating them, which will help the police nip in the bud the criminal elements patronizing hotels in and around the FCT.Â
The Forum appreciated the AIG and pledged support to curb the menace of crimes and criminality in the FCT. They also seek the assistance of the AIG to provide security in the form of patrol around the hotels of members of the Forum.
The AIG was joined by DCP Uduak O. Ita, ACP Isyaku Sharu, and ACP Tino Dangana, to receive and interact with the visitors.
