All Policemen On Routine Patrol, Stop And Search Must Be In Uniform – IGP

The Inspector General of Police has directed that all policemen on routine patrol, stop and search must be in uniform.

This was disclosed by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi through his X handle while responding to a tweet by one @bmofficial20.

“PRO is it that police uniforms are too expensive or what exactly is the problem. Why will a policeman on duty wear jeans and contraband you can’t even identify an officer cus no name badge on them and that’s cus they’re not putting on the proper police uniform”

Adejobi said, “IGP has directed that all policemen on routine patrol and stop and search must be in uniform. On no account should any policeman be on the road in mufti. It’s a tradition in the police that every policeman must be identified. No unknown police. Every policeman is known and traceable”.
