Other members who signed the document are Jeremiah Timothy alias (VIP), Kabowei Simon, Godbless Alatoru, Gala, Gbonga Japhet, Goddy Mabiko, Ebide Brown, Alhaji Letugbene, Randy Andakurogha.
The statement reads as follows; The leadership of the Bayelsa West Ex-Agitators forum wishes to use this medium to appreciate His Excellency, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, former Governor of Bayelsa State and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, for his usual and welcome initiative of coming to the senatorial district to show gratitude to his people during the festive season.
As a group, we also use this medium to commend our Senator for keeping his promise of continuing with the annual football competition otherwise known as the Ofurumapepe Cup in the Bayelsa West Senatorial District as well as the grass root-based Nanaye Dickson traditional wrestling competition, both of which he initiated while he was Governor of Bayelsa State for talent discovery, grooming youth and promotion of Ijaw language and culture.
So far, we are convinced that Senator Dickson has performed excellently and has undoubtedly exceeded our expectation of what a Senator, our senator should be. He has provided superlative representation for our people, Bayelsa and the Ijaw Nation.
Therefore, we are strongly putting our weight behind him for another term in the Senate in the interest of our people. Since Senator Dickson assumed office as Senator at the National Assembly, he has passionately defended the Ijaw cause. Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Bayelsa State, the Niger Delta and the entire Ijaw nation are very proud of his exploits.
Nigerians and the world at large witnessed the heated Petroleum Industry and the Oil producing Communities Bills’ debate and how our Senator staged a walk out, expressing his displeasure and refusal to align with the oppressive position the house took on the matter.
Our struggle as ex-agitators has been made easy by the efforts and constructive contributions of our Senator. Similar efforts involving the Amnesty office has increased access to the educational opportunities the agency provides for youths across the Ijaw nation.
The leadership of the Bayelsa West Ex-agitators Forum is happy with the People Oriented Representation from our senator and we assure him of our full support.
We will not hesitate to galvanise more support for him within our ranks any time the need arises.
We wish our Senator, the good people of Bayelsa West Senatorial District, and the Governor of Bayelsa State a happy new year and a fruitful 2022.
