Communities In Nasarawa State Affected By Flood Receive Assistance From NEMA

The Nasarawa State Governor, Engr Abdullahi Sule, received relief supplies on Thursday from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for distribution to flood victims in the State.

The Director General National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Mustapha Habib Ahmed was represented by the acting Director of Planning Research and Forecasting Hajiya Fatima Suleiman Kasim.

Speaking on the relief intervention in Lafiya, she said the items were approved and delivered by NEMA to provide succour to the affected persons.

Responding, Gov Sule who was represented by his deputy Dr Emmanuel Akabe appreciated NEMA and the Federal Government for the relief support.

The NEMA team led by the Ag Director Planning Research and Forecasting comprised some staff from the headquarters and North Central Zonal office Jos led by the Coordinator Mr Eugene Louis Nyelong.

The team was at the Government House, Lafiya in the office of the Deputy Governor before proceeding to the warehouse to inspect and officially hand over the relief items to the State Government. Present also was the Director General of the State Emergency Management Agency Barrister Zachary Alumaga.
