…. As Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction invites UNICEF to document the details of the minors
About 114 #EndBadGovernance protesters, both adults and juveniles, who had previously been charged by the Nigeria Police Force, have been ordered to be released immediately by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
In a quick order on Tuesday, Justice Obiora Egwatu struck out the case against the demonstrators, as asked by Lateef Fagbemi SAN and the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF)
Among those in court to witness the immediate release are the Honourable Minister, Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction (FMHAPR), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, and the Honourable Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Hon. Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu.
The accelerated hearing led to their unconditional release by Justice Obiora Egwatu, the presiding judge.
The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction thereafter invited UNICEF to document the details of the minors to track them and support them to return to school.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu had instructed the AGF on Monday to lawfully facilitate the release of all minors arrested by the Nigerian Police Force during the End Bad Governance protests.
