CPN Formally Presents New Registrar To NITDA

The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Mallam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi on Tuesday received the newly elected Registrar/Secretary of the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN) Mr Muhammad Bello Aliyu.

The Executives of the Council were at the Agency’s National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in Abuja to formally present its new Registrar/Secretary to NITDA in order for him to familiarise with the activities and partnership already existing between the Agency and the Council.

The DG NITDA while addressing members of the council urged them to craft a means for testing individual capabilities and then issue certification after such test in order to differentiate the real professionals from the quacks.

“Find a way of testing people and certify them as professionals because we need people that can think, experiment and then test their products”, he advised.

The DG further stated that it is important to update the school curriculum so that what students are taught in school will align with what is applicable in the real world.

He also said that the Council needs to provide the human capital that can develop the sector as NITDA is to ensure the industry is ready for the human capital to be provided.

Mallam Abdullahi advised that the Council also need to collaborate with NITDA to develop strategies that will be beneficial to the sector in general. As he said “developing strategies in silos will make it difficult for the collaborating party to align”.
