The Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar says the death of late Madaki Nupe, Alhaji Abdullahi B Umar was a great loss to Nupe kingdom, Niger state and Nigeria in general.
Etsu Nupe was reacting to the demise of the former elder statesman shortly after the funeral prayer at Umar Ma’ajigi Juma’at Mosque in Bida on Thursday.
The Royal father who expressed shock on the news of the passing on of the late A B Umar described him as a very pious, philanthropic, patriotic and peace loving nationally.
Alhaji Abubakar described his death as a big blow and colossal loss to the entire emirate, Niger state and Nigeria at large.
“The entire kin Nupe have lost a great peace promoter, a rear gem and a great leader who ensures peaceful co-existence among the different ethnic groups in the area
”Late Madaki Nupe was a peace maker, promoter, a bridge builder and he had also contributed a lot to the development of not only the emirate but to the state and the country in general.
“The news of his death is shocking, heartbreaking and very painful, but God gives life and takes at will,” Etsu Nupe averred.
The Royal father described the deceased as a humble gentleman known for fairness and justice.
“He was a bridge builder, an amiable personality who is always at home with his people, whose vacuum would be difficult to fill,” Alhaji Abubakar added
He urged the family members, Nupe kingdom and the state at large not to be depressed but to be courageous and have faith in God.
Alhaji Abubakar however, condoles the immediate family of the late A B Umar, Bida Emirate Council and prayed God to grant the soul of the deceased Aljanna fidaus and formidable fortitude for his family to bear the loss
Also Speaking, the Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani- Bello represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed-Ketso said it was disheartening and painful to lose such a great mind that devoted all his life to the service of humanity
He pointed out that his demise had created a great vacuum that would be hard to fill.
The governor noted that death was an expected end of every mortal and enjoined his family to take solace in the words of God which say “a time to be born, and a time to die.
He however, prays that Almighty Allah will receive Madaki Nupe’s soul and grant his people a worthy successor who will build on the laudable legacies of his life of service to community and country at large
It will be recalled that A B Umar who died at the age of 84 after a brief illness at Kaduna is survived by 2 wives, many children and grand children
