Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State says the establishment of Edusoko University Bida will help solve admission challenges in the state.
Governor Sani Bello stated this when he received on a courtesy visit, the Chairman, Board of Trustees Edusoko University, Etsu Nupe HRH. Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar and his entourage at the Government House, Minna.
The Governor said there are many students seeking university admission, which he believes Edusoko University will help in absorbing.
While commending the foresight of the Etsu Nupe, for establishing the university, Governor Sani Bello expressed optimism saying that the University will go a long way in producing graduates with the required skills & knowledge needed to improve society.
The Chairman, Board of Trustees, HRH, Alh. Yahaya Abubakar explained that their visit was to present to the Governor the license given to the institution by the National University Commission (NUC) to operate Degree programs as a private University in the State.
The traditional ruler noted that the university will help to solve the problem associated with low human capital development index in the country and reduce youths’ restiveness by offering them admission within the fields of their operation as approved by the NUC.
He told the Governor that the University has commenced the admission process of 100 level students through JAMB adding that the first batch of admission list will soon be released on the University’s website.
The Etsu Nupe appreciated the role played by the state Governor in the takeoff of the university and urged for continued support.
Members of his entourage include Chairman, Governing Council, Alh Dalhatu Aliyu Makama, the Makaman Nupe, Prof. Muhammad Alkali, Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University, Alh. Aliyu Ndagi, the promoter of the university, Engr. Asian Imoke the project consultant.
