….says, Sagbama LGA Will Only Complete The Tenure of Ewrudjakpor.
The Ekelga Federated Youth Council in conjunction with the 43 autonomous community Youth Presidents In Ekeremor L.G.A led by Hon. Afore Kelvin has unanimously endorsed Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson as their sole candidate for the forthcoming Bayelsa West Senatorial Bye Election.
The President of the Ekeremor Community Mr. Komboye Owoubiri who moved the motion on behalf of the 43 youth presidents for the unanimous decision to endorse Governor Dickson to represent the good people of Bayelsa West in the Senate stated that, the decision was taken after a critical meeting at the Ekeremor Civic Center.
The President of Ekelga Federated Youths, Hon. Afore Kelvin who highlighted some of the reasons why the resounding decisions were reached noted that, the vacant seat left by Sen. Lawrence Ewrudjakpor, the current Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State is still zoned to Sagbama because of the zoning agreement reached earlier by leaders and stakeholders of Sagbama and Ekeremor. He further said , by the arrangement, Hon. Seriake Dickson when elected will only serve one term to complete the Senator Ewrudjakpor tenure and thereafter the Ekeremor LGA will produce the next Senator.
Hon. Ebilade Ekerefe who buttressed on why the decision was reached noted that, former Governor Dickson has represented them well previously as a member of the House of Representatives before his election and re-election as Governor of Bayelsa State, so giving him the senatorial seat to represent them will be an opportunity for him to consolidate on the achievements already made in his senatorial district.
The various youth presidents pointed out his laudable land mark achievements in infrastructure to include the Sagbama/Ekeremor Senatorial Road, building of referral hospitals in Ekeremor, Boarding schools with free scholarships for indigent students, appointment of several people of Peretorugbene Community into various political and leadership positions.
