Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has distributed vehicles to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state, to serve as tools for effective and efficient service delivery.
Engineer Sule distributed the vehicles at a ceremony at the Government House, on Friday.
According to the Governor, in spite of the fact that Nigeria is currently in recession, with the consequent dwindling economy, it has however become necessary to purchase the vehicles because of the reforms being introduced by the administration to galvanize the civil service for utmost performance.
Engineer Sule explained that in a situation where his administration is looking forward to improvement in internal revenue generation for the development of the state, where the entire civil service is being reformed for effectiveness, government consider it paramount to provide the tools to facilitate these objectives.
The Governor noted that while other states may purchase such vehicles on loan, his administration bought the vehicles comprising of two Prado jeeps, Two Peugeot 301 saloon,10 Hilux Vans and two Hiace Buses, with the little resources belonging to the state.
“We used the resources that we have to buy the vehicles, so that people can go about and carry out their job,” Engineer Sule stated.
He however called on the beneficiaries to utilize the vehicles for the purpose for which it was meant.
“I am calling on the beneficiaries to understand that the vehicles are tools that we need for you to be effective and efficient while doing your work,” the Governor said.
