Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule has joined his colleagues from the Northern Governors Forum (NGF) as governors, traditional rulers; meet in Kaduna, to resolve challenges confronting the region.
The two-day meeting is holding at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna.
Chairman of the NGF and Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong, in his opening remarks, described the meeting as “crucial”, with the various committees earlier set up by the forum to address challenges confronting the North, expected to present their reports for consideration and adoption.
The NGF Chairman said the various committees were set up to address challenges facing the region, ranging from insecurity, economy, farmers/herdsmen clashes, youth engagement and Almajiri phenomenon, among others.
Engineer Sule belongs to three such committees namely, Committee on Northern Nigeria Development Company, Committee on Ending Almajiri Phenomenon and Committee on the Economy of the North Post COVID-19.
Also, the Emir of Lafia, HRH Justice Sidi Bage, is expected to present the report of the Committee on the Role of Traditional Rulers in Governance.
A communiqué is expected to be issued at the end of the meeting.
