Enugu House Of Assembly Committee Lauds CP Kanayo Policing Strides,

…… as the CP receives and interacts with defence intelligence college course participants on a study tour

Members of the Enugu State House of Assembly Committee on Youths, Sports and Security Matters have commended CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, for his policing strides since assuming duty as the Commissioner of the State Command.

According to a press release on Wednesday, 8th May 2024 signed by the Enugu Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, said that the Committee, led by its Chairman, Hon. Raymond Ugwu, made this known when they paid the CP a courtesy and familiarization visit in his office today, May 8, 2024.

The statement read, “The Chairman while describing the deployment of CP Kanayo as a blessing to Enugu State on behalf of the members of the Committee, charged the Commissioner and his officers and men to sustain the tempo and remain undaunting in stabilizing the security order of the State.

“The CP, while warmly welcoming the Committee members, thanked them for the visit and their collective appreciation of the modest policing strides of the Command. He assured them of the unalloyed commitment of the police to continue to combat acts of crime and criminality in the State. He commended the entire members of the State House for the orderly manner in which they have been conducting the legislative affairs of the State.

“CP Kanayo, on the same date, received and interacted with a delegation from the Defense Intelligence College, comprising directing staff and participants of the Defense Intelligence Course 21, 2024, that visited the State Command during their study tour of Enugu State.

“The CP, while educating the course participants on the policing activities of the Command towards maintaining adequate public security and safety in the State, took time to expose them to the measures taken by the Police to curb the violent crime of kidnapping for ransom in the State.

“Speaking during the tour, the leader of the delegation and Deputy Commandant of the College, Group Captain M. F. Borgu, thanked the Commissioner of Police and his management team for the warm reception accorded the delegation. He identified “Curbing Kidnapping for Ransom in Nigeria” as the theme of the study tour, stressing that they embarked on the tour to get insights into how the Command has been handling general security challenges in Enugu State and kidnapping for ransom in particular.

“The Commissioner of Police was joined by members of the Command’s management team to receive and interact with the members of the Enugu State House of Assembly Committee and the delegation from the Defence Intelligence College.
