By Mohammed Baba Busu

The Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar has described the death of His Sonfada, (High Chamberlain), Alhaji Muhammad Ndalukpa, as a “monumental loss” to the emirate and Niger state.

The traditional ruler said that the late Sonfada was a honest, reliable, dedicated and loyal servant whose services would be greatly missed by the entire Nupe kingdom.

Alhaji Abubakar was commenting on the death of the palace aide shortly after the burial rites at Etsu Usman Zaki palace, Bida on Wednesday.

The Royal father said the Decease was a great pillar at the palace and that his services were greatly instrumental in ensuring the successful conduct of activities surrounding the emirate.

“The deceased showed love to the people who live in our domain, irrespective of their tribe, religious inclination.

He said in spite of these, the deceased was a Godly servant who had the interest of his subjects at heart above any other thing,” the traditional ruler said.

The monarch described him as a committed technocrat, patriotic leader and a de-tribalised Nigerian whose vacuum would be difficult to fill.

“Though God has His reason for taking him at this point in time, as the people of the emirate have enjoyed his fatherly advice, which will be greatly missed,” Alhaji Abubakar added.

Etsu, however, prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest in Aljannatul fildausi and give the family the formidable fortitude to bear the loss.
