The Federal Government will intensify efforts in improving tax administration and collection efficiency in the next fiscal year.
This according to the Minister of Finance and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed has become necessary as revenue generation remains the major fiscal constraint of the Federation.
Mrs. Ahmed stated this in Abuja on Monday while appearing before the House of Representatives Committee on Finance to defend the 2023-2025 Medium Term Expenditure Framework ( MTEF) and fiscal strategy paper (FSP).
The Minister made it known that crude oil production challenges and subsidy deduction by NNPC Limited constitute a significant threat to the achievement of the government’s revenue targets.
She, therefore said that urgent actions would be required to address issues of revenue underperformance and expenditure efficiency at national and sub-national levels.
