GOGIS Issues First Digital Certificate Of Occupancy

Gombe Geographic Information Systems (GOGIS) has issued the first new secured digital certificate of occupancy (CofO), at the agency’s corporate office, in Gombe.

In line with Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s determination to eradicate corruption with regards to land dealings in the state, as a robust, reliable, and versatile agency, GOGIS wishes to announce to the public that, Digital Certificates are available and ready for collection.

The Director-General, Dr Kabiru Usman Hassan calls on those who have applied and fulfilled the requirements to come to the agency for collection.

Welcoming the Speaker of Gombe State House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Luggerawo at a brief ceremony, the Director-General used the opportunity to thank him for honoring their invitation.

The Director-General says, “We invited the Honorable Speaker, Rt Hon. Abubakar Luggerawo and the Commissioner, Gombe State, Ministry of Lands and Survey, Hon. Danladi Adamu to witness the first public display of issuance of the new digital certificate of occupancy, in line with his Excellency, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s land administration reforms in Gombe state.”

He said since, after his assumption to office as the pioneer Director-General six (6) months ago, the agency has achieved tremendous success in land administration. Hundreds of new certificates of occupancy have been signed by the Governor and are ready for collection.

In his remarks, the Speaker, Gombe State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Abubakar Luggerawo appreciated Governor of Gombe, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the support and encouragement given to GOGIS on the new land administration.

He also commended him for his laudable achievements and vision to move Gombe state to the next level of development.

“I express my sincere appreciation to the hardworking Director-General, this great milestone would not have been possible without his dedication.,” the Speaker said.

He added that “Before the advent of GOGIS, Gombe state centered its land administration on the analog process, but today the state has integrated and modified it to a digital one. The benefit of digitization can never be overemphasized as it will make the process very efficient, effective and eliminate fraud in all forms.”

The speaker urged the people of Gombe state to renew their registration for the benefit of
the generality of the state.

“I urge the people of Gombe state to renew their registration for the benefit of the state.“

Comrade Mustapha Usman Hassan, Member representing, Gombe South, who doubles as the Chairman House Committee on Works and Deputy Chairman, Committee on Lands and Survey, was also present at the ceremony.
