Gombe Geographic Information Systems DG Meet With The Leadership Of Oil Millers Union, Gombe State

The Director General of Gombe Geographic Information System (GOGIS), Dr Kabiru Usman Hassan on Thursday led a delegation of the agency to meet with the leadership of Oil Millers Union, Gombe State, at their Industrial cluster, Nasarawo, Gombe.

The Director General was received on arrival by the Chairman of the Union, Alhaji Sani Aliyu.

In an opening remarks, the Chairman of the Union, Alhaji Sani Aliyu welcomed the Director General on behalf of the Union members. He thanked and appreciated him for honoring their invitation, despite his tight schedules.

“We are thanking the Director General for honoring our invitation. We appreciate him for finding time to visit us here in our headquarters today” the Chairman said.

He further highlighted their demands before the Director General, which notably are “Land Certificate and request for the extension of their industrial cluster”.

He requested the Director General’s kind support in facilitating their swift approval for the certificate of occupancy, so as to aid them get the intervention from the Federal Government and other development partners.

“We are hereby using this medium to appreciate you for the onerous task of managing land administration and easing the process of acquiring land title documents in the state. However, as a union we are requesting for the agency’s kind support in aiding us to have our certificate of occupancy.” He added.

In his response the Director General, appreciate the leadership of the union for the invitation. He also thanked and assured them of his agency’s support to acquire land certificate, while adding that the core mandate of the agency, is to manage and administer lands in Gombe state and subsequently and give them certificate within the ambit of the law.

Responding to the extension they demanded, he vowed to take the matter to the high authority, with a view to looking at its feasibility.
